ROLE OF THE HEALTH SERVICE

The infirmary is a space for welcoming and listening where students can express themselves in complete confidentiality. Composed of two qualified nurses, this service contributes to the well-being of students by promoting their adaptation to school.

The nurses have a role that is both relational, educational, and caregiving. They support the students, organize first aid care, administer medication in case of chronic illness, and develop a dynamic of prevention and health education.

In order to promote the quality of care and communication with families, parents must provide all medical information to the health assistants.

The health service participates in the integration and schooling of students with medical problems or disorders by offering parents the implementation of an Individualized Care Plan.

The nurses also have an educational role, they conduct activities with students aimed at promoting and developing health education (awareness of dietary balance and hygiene, prevention of addictive behaviors, prevention of distress, sex education, nutritional education, and promotion of physical activities, etc).

They are part of the Health and Citizenship Education Committee.

The health service thus commits daily to contributing to the quality of life of students.
