On February 18th, Beijing — Today is the first open day of the year 2023 for the French International School of Beijing. The end of the zero-Covid policy allowed for this event, which received enthusiastic support from parents and children: nearly 50 families, about 160 parents and children, were invited to the campus to discover the unique charms of this French international school.

The event began with a French breakfast. Parents and children enjoyed delicious croissants, coffee, fruit juice, and tea. Parents were also guided to learn more about French education and the school’s way of life. They were able to exchange ideas with teachers, gradually dispelling their concerns.

Around 9 a.m., the school principal, Mr. Colleu, the school director, Ms. Peton, and the admissions officer, Ms. Henriquet, spoke to better introduce the school’s history, admission policy, and teaching philosophy. They provided answers to all the questions asked to help the children face the changes they will encounter, such as the French language and French cultural environment.

After this communal moment, parents were divided into six groups according to the entry levels of their children; each group was led by a responsible person to visit the campus. Parents visited the kindergarten, elementary school, high school, school restaurant, gymnasium… After the tour, parents and students were able to exchange ideas and ask new questions to the management and teachers present. The whole event ended in a warm and optimistic atmosphere.

The next open day will be held on April 22, 2023. We look forward to meeting new families, new students from all backgrounds to cultivate together the international specificity of our school.
